and we are still deeply missing our beloved Frodo. My children include him in their dinner prayer or evening prayer, to come home. It's been especially hard on my 14 year old son.
Frodo was one very unique cat. I really have known no other like him. He would sleep right next to my son. Every night. He would groom my son's freshly showered hair; it was so funny to watch. He would let the kids dress him up; be crazy with him; make videos of him. And he would just lay there like it was the best thing in the world. He had an amazing purr. He would snore sometimes. He was the most laid back, sweet, absolutely loving cat. Ever.
No matter where you are, a part of you, Frodo, is here with us, every day. Always...
This was the last picture I took of him, a couple weeks before we last saw him. (He's outside, waiting to come in, and he and Coco are looking at each other.) Each night, before I go to bed, I look down in this spot to see if he's there... (yes, I'm sobbing now...)

I'm missing...
I am one of our beloved Frodo's owner, writing for him. He has not written on his blog in awhile because he's been a busy boy! Going places, being lazy, or just having fun with his owners. It's a very sad time for us here. As I write this, tears stream down my face for his return. Last Wednesday evening, Frodo found a moment to dash out of the garage when the door opened. It was around dinner time, and granted our street is not a busy one, there are still cars that go by more so around that dinner time. We do not know what happened or where he is. This is the hardest part; not knowing.
Last Wednesday evening, it was a little misty outside. It was warm (for our area mid December) and the evening temps were in the 60's with periodic rain through Saturday. This past Sunday a cold front came through and by that evening it was in the 20's with a wind chill that felt like the teens. It has still been below freezing at night. I say all of this hoping he's not outside lost. He is not the type of cat to go away for very long; the longest being a short overnight stay outside (from 10pm to 7am). He's never been one to wander very far either.
Perhaps someone scooped him up and let them in his house. He is a beautiful cat, around 17 pounds, very docile, and has a personality of absolute sweetness. My 14 year old son is devastated (as am I and the rest of the family). Frodo was my sons' best friend; sitting on his desk each day during school (we homeschool), literally cuddling next to his head each night; and even cleaning him! Yes, Frodo would clean my son's head after he took a shower! It was hilarious!
Please pray for his return. We would love some closure, even if it is the news we do not want. Not knowing is the hardest part. Thank you for your kind support and sweet words you have shown towards our beloved Frodo.

I miss you all...
I've been busier than a dog these days. At the moment, I am a little under the weather, and instead, am feeling like a dog. Perhaps, I look like a dog, too. I have a cold. For a week, I could not keep my food down. I felt terrible leaving it undigested here and there in the house. And for the most part, I contained it to a surface other than carpet. My lady has been feeding me small amounts in the morning and evening - away from Coco mind you. But I seem to be past that part. Now my voice is raspy and I've been doing a weird noise that sounds like a cough. I am also sneezing now and then. I am definitely congested but am hoping to get over this as you beans do: with time, love and tenderness. So, in the during time, I will leave you a picture of my and Coco having a face off. Paws down, I won.
Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Many Salutations
My Dear Friends,
My utmost apologies for my tardiness on this blog. I have been such a busy little hobbit since I last posted. I will earnestly try to abreast you with my ongoings.
Since I last posted in November, you may enjoy hearing how chock-full my Thanksgiving was. I had an exorbitant serving of turkey and stuffing, from the eldest of the kid beans in The Shire. He sure knows how to love me- through my stomach! I lazed around the house most of November, occasionally picking off a bird or mouse.
In December, many unrecognizable beans came to The Shire. I believe the beans call them relatives or guests. I don't recall their names, but I managed to put up with their presence and occupying my favorite spots. Once they were left the premises, I felt more back at ease with life. For some reason, the extra noise and busyness makes me overstimulated. I rather retreat then hang around. I will note, though, that my stocking was full with furry little mice - not real as had dreamed about. But they were fun and full of my favorite spice in life - catnip!
New Years rolled around and I chose to stay close to my favorite beans bed. There were many loud explosions outside. The noise does not frighten me as it does Miss Coco (that fraidy-cat), but I treasure my keen sense of hearing and prefer to avoid the chaos at all costs.
Last week I was a bad boy. You see, 6 weeks ago the younger beans in the house brought home a Green Anole and declared it a new pet. It sure peaked my curiosity and, let's just say I had my way after 6 long tedious weeks. Last Wednesday, during the midnight hours, I jumped on the counter and unfolded my plan. I found a way to push the heat lamp, positioned next to the cage, aside, avoiding it to not fall off the counter and crash to the floor. I then knocked off a book or two that was on the cage top. Those beans were trying to weigh it down for extra protection, but they can't outsmart me. I then got my paw positioned just right and rigged the top off the cage. Mind you, no one woke up as I did this as quiet as a mouse. I retrieved the lizard and took off for a nice midnight snack in the upstairs hallway. Great day alive, he was scrumptious! I was not able to finish it off, and in a state of bliss, I left a few pieces on the hallway floor as I headed off to bed. When the young beans woke up in the morning, I was not on the creme-de-la-creme, so to say. I left behind a partial leg and a hand (or two) and well, I did not realize how upset they would be. Come now, what's a cat to do! He was part of the food chain!
All is forgiven now and life goes on. The young beans did bring home another lizard of some sort a few days ago. They seem to catch these twitchy little things outside and just don't realize how tempting it is for me! I'll write soon to let you know how long I can resist this one! Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Complete Chaos
A few days ago, I was just minding my business, cleaning my coat and basking in the sun that was shining through the window. Then, suddenly, I heard a lot of commotion and shrieks of craziness from the next room. I jumped up and ran over to make sure the beans were ok. They were freaking out (I would like to think in a good way as I did) that there was a chipmunk in the house.
The other day I caught one and chased it into the garage so I could play with it. Well, Chippy as the beans called him, was not thrilled with the game I wanted to play, so he went and hid behind a workbench. I eventually forgot about him and went about my business as usual. Until today. I guess Chippy wanted out of our steamy litter box smelling garage and made the great mistake of coming in through the cat door.
Once my lady bean was able to trap it between the window and the screen, I had 30 minutes of some salivating fun. Then lady bean lifted the screen so Chippy could run free. Maybe I'll see him again. I'm determined to actually. I still want to play a game. Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Smackdown
I thought I'd post this picture of Coco and I duking it out. I've been dealing with her attacking me out of the clear blue lately. Do any of you have to deal with that if you have other cats in your homesteads? Goodness gracious. She's just been getting on my nerves these days.
Here's my new self portrait. Can you tell I am just exhausted?!

I've been tagged by Faz
This is my first tag, so forgive my nonsense if that's what it ends up sounding like to my dear feller cats... I am going to do my best! So here it goes....
The Rules: In an attempt to get to know fellow bloggers a little better, this new meme was started called the 7 P’s. Fill out the 7 P’s and tag up to five blogs that you read on a regular basis.
Passion: sleeping; oh yes, and escaping the house when the little beans are not paying attention when they've left the door open.
Purpose: to bring nothing but blissful feelings to my beans!
Pursuit: eating. I could eat myself to death if they let me.
Position: laying on my side with my head upside down; preferably next to the oldest child bean.
Pummeling: cat nip; no doubt about it - it makes me do it all the time.
Progress: not fighting with Coco as much; I let her be the one to start things most of the time. ;)
Personality: I'm the most docile, laid back cat; it's true and I hear it all the time. I guess I should take it as a complement. ;)
There you have it my fellow feline friends. I tag whoever wants to join in and share some love.
Your friend, Frodo. Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Loved On
Here I am being loved on by the youngest bean in my family. Usually, this little bean enjoys being rough with me (in a sort of loving way). And since I am the most docile cat, I take it. But he was extra sweet with me today. I'd love to see a picture of your beans loving on you. Please leave me a comment if you post one. There's nothing like a loving family. :) Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Very Bad Boy
Yes, I am ashamed to admit, I've been a very bad boy lately. I've been playing to rough with the birds. I broke this birds wing and it upset one of the beans in my household. I brought two home last week, and this time I was caught in the act pouncing and playing with this one a little too rough. I saw some of the pictures my lady bean took. They're pretty graphic. I kinda feel a little bad.. But I just can't help it though... it's in my instincts... Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Beans are Back
My dear friends, I have missed you. I found myself alone in the house for quite some time. It was just Coco and I, talk about booooorring. My beans left one morning and did not come back for what seemed like forever. I missed them so much. But at least I was loved on daily by some very dear beans of my beans. Does that make any sort of sense?! I have a lot of catching up to do and have missed you all. I was able to set up the camera while my beans were gone and take pictures of what I did in the still of the house. Trust me, I sure missed the chaos and noise around here. Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Almost Famous
First off to my new feline friends and associates, many thanks to making me feel so welcome in the blog world. I feel so lucky to have meet such fine felines.I'm officially famous, in a sorta kinda way. My lady and her man were visiting a bookstore the other night and just happened to stumble upon me in a book. Last year, my lady sent my picture to Stuff on my Cat (a great site by the way) and my picture made it in the book. My lady and the little people in the house dressed me up as the hobbit Frodo Baggins, although I'd prefer to think I am the one and only original Frodo.
Anyways, my lady told me she found the book on an isle display as she was walking by. It was a total fluke because she was not looking and had no idea they had made a book (and some other goodies). She said she grabbed it, sat down, flipped through and was hoping I was in there. Just a little over half way through the book, she saw me, and on the back cover too. My lady and her man got a great laugh out of it. She told me she bought the book to share my new found famousness with others. The little people in the house loved it too.
Well, I wanted to share that with you all. I don't mean to brag; I just found it quite humorous!

Catch of the Day
Lookee Lookee at what I caught!
I'm most sure that this bird passed away from a heart attack when he fell victim to me. I felt just a bit sorry for the little guy since he didn't want to put up a struggle. It made the catch less thrilling in some waysl. Oh well. Nevertheless, I thought since he was such a purdy birdy he'd make a superb gift for the loves of my life. So I dropped him off on the front stoop. I think they appreciated it. Ciao Cioa Meow.

Self Portrait
It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I know I know, I'm just a simple domestic cat, but that doesn't mean I'm lazy. My family was gone for a long time, so I had the house to myself with you know who. Yes, that Coco loco other cat of theirs. We got a long for the most part. I got the camera down and took a self portrait. Tell me what you think... Ciao Ciao Meow.

Missing my brother
I've been thinking of my brother lately. May he rest in peace. He got hit by some maniac down our street who didn't have the guts to come knock on our door and say so. (At least that's my theory...) My brother Sam was at least able to make it home to die. We found him the morning after Thanskgiving almost two years ago on the ground covering next to our driveway. The comforting fact is, I know I'll see him again one day.
I was looking at pictures of him the other day. My brother Sam did not mind dogs as much as I do. In fact, that nut tried to make friends with them. It was definitely weird to me. Here are a few of the pictures I found. This is our neighbors dog. He's quite a quack if you ask me. Sam liked to lay down next to that dog; not exactly cuddling up to him, but you know, near him. But that dog liked to get frisky and jump on Sam. That's when Sam would draw the line (and I know he wished he had claws at those moments!). These pictures brought back some laughs and good memories for me. Man, do I miss my brother... Ciao Ciao Meow.

A new high...
Out with the old - Cat Nip.
In with the new - Crocs.
This afternoon, as I was walking by the chair where my human mom's feet were dangling, I caught a whif that turned my world around. It was such a distinct smell. I began to lick her feet. Now, don't think I'm crazy because I'm just not crazy. It was just that good! It made me want to eat them. (Shhh, don't tell anyone but I even tried to take a bite.) I guess that's when I freaked her out which in turn freaked me out! But I'm telling you, her feet and those new shoes were that much better than cat nip. I don't know what it is, but I love it. Ciao Ciao Meow.In with the new - Crocs.

Borrrrrrrrrrr-ing
I had the house to myself this past week while my family was away. Talk about quiet - it was so quiet that I thought I went deaf. No one was around to pet me, chase me, spin me, pat my back, scratch behind my ears and yes, torture me. I missed it all. And yes, Coco was a total bore. I guess it was because she was just as lonely. But they are back and I feel normal again. Thank God for humans afterall... Ciao Ciao Meow.

Noises In The Night
So, I've had a few complaints about how you humans are unable to view my posts very well. Honestly, it's as clear as day to me. But then again, I do have night vision. Don't you wish you did? Speaking of night vision... last night there was a tremendous bang in our house. I have the slightest idea of what could have made such a noise in the middle of the night, but indeed it was loud. The man of the house (or as I like to call him "intimidator") got up ready to defend the Shire thinking it was some kind of boogy man. After checking all over the house, he proceeded to open the door which in turn caught my attention. I walked down the hall and headed for the stairs, only find him walking back upstairs. You see, in the darkness, to you humans, it looks like a dark shadow. To a little hobbit as myself, it looked like a monster. Oh don't get me wrong, I like the guy for the most part. But sometimes he has a way of sounding (and acting) like a monster from time to time. But I'll save those details for another time. Right now, Whiska's is calling my name. Ciao Ciao. Meow.

Salutations
Why in the world would a black and white domestic cat living a full life in a comfy house want to start a blog? Ah, yes indeed, what a speculative thing to ponder. Well, stick around as I will gradually reveal my sentiments through written explanation. How else can I get my points across?! Ciao Ciao. Meow.
